Boys and girls 2009 and younger competed for awards in the “Dynamo” Sports School tournament on April 5-6 in Minsk, Belarus. This year the tournament was dedicated to the World Table Tennis Day.
In honor of the World Table Tennis Day, the Belarus Table Tennis Federation has established special prizes. The mascot of the II European Games of 2019 Lesik the Little Fox was received by two youngest participants of the tournament (both of them were born in 2011).
The importance of such competitions for their participants, as well as the development of table tennis in general, was told by the Referee of the competition, senior coach of the sports school No. 1 of the BFSO Dynamo Aliaksandra Sipach:
«The guys who took part in this tournament are our future. Within a few years, these same athletes will represent Belarus at international tournaments in their age category. To popularize table tennis you need to hold as many such large-scale competitions as possible, which is what we are doing. We do this so that our athletes just like what they are doing, and new guys come to table tennis after them».
